What documentation do I need to secure from MOCCAE?
The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment is the government entity in the U.A.E. that monitors the entry and exit of all animals in the U.A.E. To ensure your pet can travel in and out of the U.A.E., you are required to present a valid health certificate, export/import permit and other relevant documents from MOCCAE.
They have 2 branches in the country, one in Dubai and the other in Abu Dhabi which operate all through the week, around the clock. Aside from this, they also have an online Portal which provides you with access to all of the relevant information for pets going in and out of the country, documents required, service fees etc.
If you are taking your pet out of the country, you are required to visit either of the branches with your pet and his/her latest vaccination book to conduct a physical assessment by an official MOCCAE vet. Once your pet’s microchip has been scanned by the vet, the paperwork for his/her travel will be initiated. If you are bringing your pet in to the U.A.E., you are required to obtain an Import Permit from MOCCAE in order for your pet to clear customs and enter the country.
