Can I use a crate that I’ve previously used for another pet of mine?
Now if you already have an existing airline-approved crate, that’s great but let’s be mindful about one critical element – is this crate in line with your pet’s measurements i.e. is it the right size? If it is a dog’s crate and you would like to use it for your cat or kitten then you’d be paying a higher fee for the airway bill based on the dimensions while running the risk of him/her being tossed around during turbulence or general movement and if you were to use a cat’s crate for your dog or pup then your pet will simply not be able to travel in it because it might be too small for them. Now, if the pets are of the same size, we recommend usage after evaluation of their measurements and the crate, on a case-by-case basis.
