My pet is travelling in-cabin with me. What is the process upon landing with Etihad Airlines?

The process is very simple.

Step 1

Our team will be handling all your pet release processes in advance, prior to your landing.

Step 2

After all the relevant paperwork has been done, our representative will leave. Their presence is not required at any point after that.

Step 3

This is where you come in. Upon landing, head to the customs area.

Step 4

The airport officer on duty will call the MOCCAE vet to meet you and cross-verify all your original documents.

Step 5

Show the MOCCAE vet a copy of the Import Permit to quicken the search for your pet’s details from the system.

Note: The doctor can take anywhere between 30 minutes to 3+ hours to arrive at the customs area, so you might have to factor in a waiting period.

Step 6

Your pet’s microchip will be scanned.

Step 7

Ta-da, after this you may exit the airport with your pet. Taxi drop-offs for your pet are not included in the fees; however, can be provisioned for an additional fee.
